AnkiExInstallation Guide
Follow these steps to install AnkiEx and get the shortcut working right away.
Install AnkiEx
1. Move AnkiEx to Applications
Open the DMG you downloaded, then drag AnkiEx.app into your Applications folder.

2. Launch AnkiEx
Open Applications and double-click AnkiEx. If macOS warns that the app is from an unidentified developer, choose Open.
3. Allow AnkiEx in Privacy & Security
If macOS blocks the launch, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the Security section, and click Open Anyway.

4. Enable Accessibility Access
After clicking Open Anyway, try launching AnkiEx again. macOS will prompt you to allow Accessibility—click Open System Settings, then toggle AnkiEx on. You can always enable it manually in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, and once the switch is on you can immediately use the Cmd+Option+A shortcut.

Install AnkiConnect
AnkiEx needs the AnkiConnect add-on to create cards inside Anki automatically. Install it once and you're set.
1. Open Anki & go to Add-ons
In Anki Desktop, click Tools → Add-ons (or press Cmd+Shift+A).

2. Click “Get Add-ons”
In the Add-ons window, press the Get Add-ons... button.

3. Enter the AnkiConnect code
Click the code below to copy 2055492159, paste it into the field, and select OK. Anki will download and install the add-on.

4. Restart Anki
Close Anki and reopen it to activate AnkiConnect. AnkiEx can now create cards in your decks automatically.
